Nashville Area Intentional Older Adult Ministry Network to Meet Jan. 5

Church leaders (both clergy and laity) who are interested in older adult ministry gather each month for a network meeting and to participate in a presentation and discussion on a particular topic of interest in the area of ministry by, with and for older adults.  The Network is ecumenical and open to all interested persons.  There is no cost to participants.  Leadership is provided by Dr. Richard Gentzler, director of ENCORE Ministries.

The next meeting of the Nashville Area Intentional Older Adult Ministry Network will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2017 from 9:30 AM until 11:30 AM in Room 363, Ezell Center at Lipscomb University.  The program on January 5 will be led by Jackie Bruce and Laura Brown and is titled: “Who You Gonna Call:  A Reference Guide for Helping Older Tennesseans.”

From “understanding Medicare” to “when is it time to stop driving” this Reference Guide, developed by the Tennessee Commission on Aging and Disability, covers 14 resources that are helpful to know about when working with senior adults.

Jackie Bruce, M.A. is Aging Program Consultant with Tennessee Commission on Aging and Disability and Laura E. Brown, J.D., is State Long-Term Care Ombudsman, Tennessee Commission on Aging and Disability
