Senior Ride Nashville Launches in Bellevue!

Senior RideWe are thrilled to announce that Senior Ride Nashville has launched! Thanks to the support of this great community, we are now able to realize our mission to improve the quality of life for non-driving older adults in Davidson County by providing courteous and safe door-through-door volunteer transportation along with guidance on mobility options, enabling them to maintain independence and dignity, obtain essential services, and stay connected to the community.

Rides began in the Bellevue area on November 1. We plan to expand to additional service areas, as volunteer capacity allows, until we reach our ultimate goal of providing services on a countywide basis.

We can’t do this without your help! We’re looking for caring, reliable volunteer drivers to provide transportation to medical appointments, grocery stores, visits to loved ones, and other destinations. Learn more about becoming a volunteer driver by clicking here or calling us at 615-610-4040 today. At the completion of Senior Ride Nashville’s inaugural trip, our first rider Yves said, “This is wonderful. I was isolated, and it’s hard to be isolated. It’s refreshing to see people are willing to help.” Help us reach more riders like Yves!

Senior Ride Nashville was founded by the Council on Aging of Middle Tennessee and the Senior Transportation Leadership Coalition in 2017. We would not exist without their continued support and the support of the West End Home Foundation, HCA Foundation, United Way of Metropolitan Nashville, Cigna HealthSpring, and Memorial Foundation. We are also grateful for the support of Belmont University’s School of Occupational Therapy and College of Business faculty and students.

Learn how you can Give a Ride, Get a Ride, or Give a Gift today! We believe that Senior Ride Nashville will be a ‘game changer’ for senior adults who can no longer drive yet deserve to stay connected to the community. We are confident that together we can create a community that is more supportive of all of us as we age, and provide not just rides, but caring relationships.
